Chaplain Norris

"Norris Burkes' deceptively spare slices of life entice with humor and insight, causing readers to consume ample food for thought before they know it."
Sam House, Editor of Leadership Adult Publishing
Lifeway
Nashville, TN

Norris Burkes writes everyday stories, often amusing,  from his perspective as the chaplain for the Women and Children's department of a busy Northern California hospital.  He also serves as a chaplain in the California National Guard. His purpose is to encourage people to grow in their faith as they face both everyday life experiences as well as unspeakable tragedies.  He covers such varied subjests as death, insecurity, fear, growing up, parenting and much more.

The website serves as a portfolio for his popular syndicated column, Spirituality in Everyday Life.  Syndicated by Gannett News Service in over 35 papers, the column sometimes appears in local publications as Spirit Matters.  It has appeared in papers as large as the Chicago Tribune and as diverse as local alternative newspapers.
